Trevor Bauer publicly defended his integrity and reputation, sharing correspondences with accuser Lindsey Hill post-court settlement.”

Former MLB pitcher Trevor Bauer and Lindsey Hill have reached a resolution in their lawsuits without any financial transactions between them, marking an important development in their legal journey. Bauer, in a heartfelt video shared on X (formerly Twitter), the title of which read
“2 years and I can finally talk about this”, and an interview, The Washington Post did with Hill, confirmed this conclusion.

Bauer’s attorneys, Shawn Holley and Jon Fetterolf, clarified, “Mr. Bauer did not make – and never has made – any payments to Ms. Hill, including to resolve their litigation. With this matter now at rest, Mr. Bauer can focus completely on baseball.”

Hill’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, revealed that Hill is not compensating Bauer to settle his lawsuit; instead, she is receiving $300,000 from her insurance company.

During the course of this two-year legal saga, Bauer shared alleged text messages from Hill in which she referred to him as her “next victim.” Bauer also claimed that Hill’s legal team had approached him multiple times regarding a financial settlement.

In parallel, Bauer posted a YouTube video where he presented text messages he deemed evidence of Hill’s attempt to defraud him. According to Bauer, the lawsuit was his means of acquiring crucial information to clear his name. He stated,

“Regardless of the outcome in court, I’ve paid significantly more in legal fees than Lindsey Hill could ever pay me in her entire life, and I knew that would be the case going in. But the lawsuit was never about the money for me.”

One text message included in Bauer’s video alleged that Hill tried to frame him for financial gain, stating, “Net worth is 51 mil,” to which the recipient allegedly replied, “b–ch, you better secure the bag.”

Bauer concluded his video by stating, “Now over the last two years, I’ve been forced to defend my integrity and my reputation in a very public setting, but hopefully this is the last time I have to do so, as I’d prefer to just remain focused on doing my job, winning baseball games and entertaining fans around the world. So today I’m happy to be moving on with my life.”

In January, the Los Angeles Dodgers decided to part ways with Bauer, asserting that he would not be a part of their organization in the future. This aligned with previous reports from the Los Angeles Times in 2021, which described Bauer as a “pariah” in the clubhouse and indicated that his Dodgers teammates no longer wished to play alongside him. Subsequently, Bauer remained unsigned and opted to pitch overseas in Japan this year.
