“24 econd No problem” – Zach Wilon how out in comeback win againt Giant, lead Jet on game-winning drive

In Week 8 of the NFL, the New York Jets secured a very tight overtime win, 13-10, over the New York Giants on Sunday.

For Jets quarterback Zach Wilson, it needed 24 seconds to pull off a win in the final second, he drove down the field for overtime and an eventual win

With 24 seconds left on the clock, Wilson threw a strike to Garrett Wilson from his own 25-yard-line for a gain of 29 yards.

Behind by a 10-7 score and without a point in the second half, the Jets got the ball back on their own 25-yard line with no timeouts and 24 seconds left on the clock.

The Jets took 58 yards on four plays and the pair of Garrett Wilson and Allen Lazard pulled off a 29-yard strike, Lazard put the Jets in field goal range.

In the post-game, Wilson said to the media,

“I didn’t doubt at all, When I saw our defense kind of stop them, I was like, 24 seconds? No problem.”

He also added,

“I’m glancing at the clock … but I knew we got it off (spiked). Everyone else was probably a little tight because it was a little close, but I knew we were going to get that one-off.”

The Jets coach Robert Saleh also commented on Wilson’s 24-second performance,

“The kid’s got a lot of resilience”

Wilson managed to complete 17 of 36 passes for 240 yards and one touchdown in Sunday’s 13-10 overtime win over the Giants.
